Principal's Message - November 2024

Dear Rosenfeld School families,

It has been such a beautiful fall, and students have been enjoying various activities at recess such as hockey on the pad, soccer, tag games, imaginative games and visiting in the picnic shelter.

Our fall party was last week and we had a fun day of building school community through food and cross-grade activities.  Parents barbequed chicken burgers for lunch which was anticipated and enjoyed by everyone.  In the afternoon, staff had different stations set up and students could choose which activities they wanted to go to.  Some students went to one or two stations, and some made it a goal to get to every single station!  There are some pictures in the newsletter which show students participating in different activities, ranging from crafts, building, trail mix snack making and eating, and playing outside and in the gym.  It is always rewarding to see students across the grades doing activities together and building friendships in the process.

The mornings are getting cooler and I just want to remind families that students spend 15 minutes outside when they get to school at 8:30 am.  Some students are finding it cold first thing in the morning, and with below freezing temperatures at the start of the day, an extra layer to start the day would make them more comfortable.

Later this month we look forward to speaking with families about your children’s progress so far this year during 3 way conferences.  This is also an opportunity for your children to show you their classroom and share some of their work with you and is a great opportunity for parents to connect with teachers.

Please see the calendar and the rest of the newsletter for dates and  details about upcoming events.  The school website, https://res.blsd.ca  is also updated with the latest information.

- Barb Rempel, Principal
